Many network installations that are were not done by a professional
look fine, but have hidden problems. Test equipment for network
cabling is expensive, and is not normally used by smaller
"fly-by-night" companies. SPL uses the latest test
equipment to check things such as Attenuation (loss of signal
over distance), Near and Far end cross-talk (signal "bleeding"
between wires), and Maximum Cable Length as well as the common
Continuity test, which is all that some people run.
